The Session Was Disconnected. If You Want to Continue Try to Connect Again

Remote Desktop Connection Randomly Disconnecting User With "Multiple Monitors" Enabled

DETAILS: User is connecting to host machine using a VPN and Remote Desktop Connexion. The connection volition work for a while and so brainstorm to disconnect every 0-60 minutes thereafter until the remote machine is restarted. The problem only seems to effect the user when the session is established with "Use all my monitors for the remote session". Unchecking "Use all my monitors...." seems to resolve the result when it is occurring correct upon connection, just we haven't tested it for long periods as multiple monitors are required for the user.

Both the customer and remote machine are domain joined running Windows ten. The issue seems isolated to this user for at present.

I take tried setting the clients machines "Turn Off UDP On Client" group policy to "Enabled" per recommendations of other troubleshooting threads, simply it did not fix the event. Restarting the host machine seems to fix the problem for awhile (few hours), simply then the event creeps back eventually.

Any aid on the issue would be appreciated.

RDP constantly reconnecting

For months I have been using RDP by connecting into my customer'south network to bear out some piece of work.

v days ago the RDP starting losing it'southward connection, and after reconnecting successfully. At present it is so frequent that it is tough to use and I'1000 left to try to figure out what is wrong.
I have noticed that if I just get out the RDP window open it doesn't happen, but when I beginning to work information technology'll constantly try to reconnect.

I have uploaded a section of the logs showing a sequence of RDP disconnecting so reconnecting.

I am on Windows 10 Pro, 10.0.19041.

Hullo,

Delight check on the remote PC if there is group policy to set the RDP transport protocols as "Use only TCP". If so, please change it to "Use both UDP and TCP".

Microsoft Remote Desktop keeps getting disconnected whenever mac goes to sleep. Not able to car- reconnect

Hi,
I recently got the new macbook pro (M1 Pro xiv") with the latest iOS, and I'm using the official microsoft remote desktop app to connect to a computer. It works fine, just if my computer goes to sleep, the session disconnects and it'southward very hard to practise autoconnect. I stop up having to close the session and and then open it back again. This is very unfriendly for a user, so I wanted to know if I'one thousand doing something wrong.

I can modify the slumber setting on my mac to fifteen mins or even one hour, but this problem is something I'd like to get rid of, by tweaking the issues on the RDP app side.

After Remote Desktop customer loses its connexion to the remote desktop, the customer tin can't immediately reconnect. The user receives one of the following error letters:

  • The client couldn't connect to the terminal server because of a security mistake. Make sure you are signed in to the network, so try connecting once again.
  • Remote Desktop disconnected. Because of a security error, the client could non connect to the remote reckoner. Verify that yous are logged onto the network and so try connecting again.

When the Remote Desktop customer reconnects, the RDSH server reconnects the customer to a new session instead of the original session. However, when you lot check the RDSH server, it says that the original session is still active and didn't enter a disconnected state.

To piece of work around this issue, y'all tin can enable the Configure keep-live connection interval policy in the Estimator Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Connections group policy folder. If you enable this policy, you must enter a proceed-alive interval. The keep-alive interval determines how often, in minutes, the server checks the session state.

This issue can also be stock-still past reconfiguring your authentication and configuration settings. You can reconfigure these settings at either the server level or by using grouping policy objects (GPOs). Here'due south how to reconfigure your settings: Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Security group policy binder.

  1. On the RD Session Host server, open up Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration.
  2. Nether Connections, correct-click the name of the connectedness, so select Backdrop.
  3. In the Backdrop dialog box for the connection, on the General tab, in Security layer, select a security method.
  4. Become to Encryption level and select the level you desire. You tin select Low, Client Uniform, Loftier, or FIPS Compliant.

Note

  • When communications between clients and RD Session Host servers require the highest level of encryption, use FIPS-compliant encryption.
  • Any encryption level settings you configure in Group Policy override the settings you lot configured using the Remote Desktop Services Configuration tool. Also, if you lot enable the System cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing policy, this setting overrides the Ready client connection encryption level policy. The system cryptography policy is in the Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options folder.
  • When you change the encryption level, the new encryption level takes effect the side by side time a user signs in. If yous require multiple levels of encryption on one server, install multiple network adapters and configure each adapter separately.
  • To verify your certificate has a corresponding private key, get to Remote Desktop Services Configuration, correct-click the connection that you want to view the certificate for, select Full general, then select Edit. Later that, select View certificate. When you get to the General tab, you should see the argument, "You accept a individual fundamental that corresponds to this certificate" if in that location'southward a fundamental. Y'all tin also view this information with the Certificates snap-in.
  • FIPS-compliant encryption (the System cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing policy or the FIPS Compliant setting in Remote Desktop Server Configuration) encrypts and decrypts data sent between the server and client with the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-1 encryption algorithms that apply Microsoft cryptographic modules. For more than data, see FIPS 140 Validation.
  • The Loftier setting encrypts data sent betwixt the server and client past using potent 128-bit encryption.
  • The Client Compatible setting encrypts information sent between the customer and the server at the maximum key strength supported past the client.
  • The Low setting encrypts data sent from the customer to the server using 56-bit encryption.
