How Do I Stop Weatherbug From Continuing to Use Memory

Hi Frank,

Updating live apps will not cause this issue. You could face this issue when there is a malware or virus attack on your computer. You could also face this issue when all the updates are not installed. Please provide the following details.

  1. What is the make and model of your computer?

  2. Did you make any changes to the app settings prior to this issue?

  3. Is the issue specific to apps?

Let's check if there are any pending updates. Go to the start screen and type "store" and click on Store. If it opens then look for the notification for pending updates available at the top right corner of the store. If yes, click on "updates" to check for the list of updates available. By default, all the updates for the apps would be marked. Right Click on the apps window and select "Install updates".

I suggest you to Run the App Troubleshooter and check if it helps you.

The Apps Troubleshooter is an automated tool which we have developed to address a number of known issues that can prevent the Apps from running properly. This troubleshooter automatically fixes some issues, including suboptimal screen resolution, incorrect security or account settings etc. You can click on this link to download and run the Apps troubleshooter.

I have the same issue with the weather app. I'm using an HP Envy 15, and this issue started when I installed the current build.  The weather app will randomly open itself from time to time.

Weather app on my laptop has been doing that since 9860 install.  3 or 4 times per day it seemed to pop then instantly minimize to taskbar.      Yet not actually loaded and running in memory.

I right clicked it and pinned it to the taskbar ..  now maybe once a day I see it pop and disappear instantly.  Mostly when I'm at YouTube.   Perhaps html5 video coding triggers it somehow sometimes im wondering ?

I had been having the same issue and discovered that Application Frame Host is the culprit. When you open a Store app they open in the Application Frame Host and once you close the apps this Background Process remains running and as long is continues to run Store apps you have previously ran will reopen even after closing.

Not a fix but opening Task Manager and under Processes\Background Processes, end the Application Frame Host process.
